I have finally learnt today that the term for my phobia of snakes is called "Ophidiophobia". According to Wikipedia, "a typical ophidiophobic would not only fear them when in live contact but also dreads to think about them or even see them on TV or in pictures." That's truly like me although ironically I am born in the Chinese calendar of one.

So, imagine my dread when I had to venture into the reptile section last Friday when I went to the zoo. Before that, when we went to the Australian Outback section, I saw already a huge one with the remains of its shedded skin still on display in the case. This got me thinking of the similarities of the reptiles and human behaviour. Snakes are generally harmless unless you provoke them. Not too sure tho, coz I definitely don't wanna go near one. Some are like that. They look harmless and that made you want to get to know them. But when you think you really know them well enough, suddenly they decide to shed their outer "skin" and reveal their inner selves which might shock you. And you never really saw it coming. I guess the saying that you can never really know a person well enough, close or otherwise, is true. So, I'm even more wary of both kinds now. Hope I may never need to encounter either kind.

Sometimes though, I kinda get irritated with those who tend to slide too close to me when I just need to look at something. Or worse those who give you the once look over and decide to just ignore you coz they assume you cannot afford it. Guess, as in the Beatles song, I just have to "let it be." Incidentally, I got to spend some time for myself just now. Watched a movie by myself (haven't done that for quite a while now) and window shopped (and shopped) at Vivo. Must do more of such things I guess to not get bogged down with things. Next in line, blading coz i miss doing that. Don't even know whether I can still balance on it. Ha2! Must wait till the showers stop too. Till then, hope it doesn't rain on ya. Take care....

* Incidentally, I think David Cook from AI is HOT,HOT,HOT! He can really rock my world...Will certainly be supporting him this year. Good luck!*
