Everybody has expectations - that's a fact, but the only question is how high have they set them to make them achievable or otherwise. I guess sometimes people tend to have this guilty habit of setting expectations that are too high or unrealistic that when they are not met, they tend to get disappointed. So, whose fault is it? Is it fair to blame anybody or should you look at yourself first? It all boils down to the person who sets them. Guess, they should not have set too high an expectation in the first place and if they have, they should have put in more effort to ensure that their expectations are met. But if they have worked themselves to the ground and it is still not met, what is there to be said anymore? There are other factors which may be beyond their control, maybe the "what" that they have set might be achievable, but the "who".... It takes two hands to clap. Trying to force something that is not there in the first place is pointless. It is trying to push a tree that would not budge. In the end, it is just a waste of time and effort. And you get tired doing it. People tell you that you should lower it down. Maybe it's time you should stop being stubborn and listen to them. Maybe they do have a point. But it's in your nature. How can you change that? Or maybe, it's just not the time? Sometimes, you tend to have this belief that there are responsibilties that you still have to fulfill, and because of that, it is decided that it is not your time yet to seek your own happiness. Who knows? Maybe that's the fact.... For the moment though, control what you expect. Try not to expect too much as Benjamin Disraeli said, "What we anticipate seldom occurs; what we least expected generally happens." So, I guess don't expect. Maybe it will make you happier, who knows ..............
