I've come to realise even more that the people you have met are the ones who are destined to enter into your life. Ok, let me put this into a travel scenario here (was thinking of someone who travels a lot). Some people are like those travellers who are on transit. They enter your life and leave as quickly as they have entered. Most of the time, they are unable to leave their mark or impression on you coz you barely know them within such a short time. Some are like those on holiday. You meet, get to know and then keep in touch, not as often though coz the bond that you have established is there but not strong enough to make you want them to be really there for you 24/7.

But, I guess, the most important ones are those who are hoping to be permanent residents or even citizens in a country. Imagine that you are the country! They enter, establish a livelihood and eventually settle down in that country, maybe for good. For me, these people are my closest friends. Some have been with me since back in my secondary school days. Each of us may have grown up and established a new life for ourselves (career, marriage and even children). But yet, amidst our hectic schedules, we know that we will always be there for one another. The need to stay in touch is always there and is important to catch up on the latest happenings in each others' lives. Important dates and events are remembered, in our dairy-like brain of ours, never forgotten. Our deepest darkest secrets and thoughts are shared. But most importantly, I know that they will be there for me in my moments of need. Ever ready to provide a lending ear for my sorrows and give advice to make it seem less painful. I truly appreciate them for their encouragement and support. For being there with me through my best and worst moments. For being more like a family than a friend. To them all, what can I say but juz to express my deepest gratitude and thanks.
