It's 9 days after the new year. Hope you have had a good start to the new year so far. Things are picking up at work, though not quite as hectic as it's early days yet. What is apparent however, are the connections that have been made - either new ones (mainly my kids)or re-established (among old friends who have lost or were too busy to keep in touch).

I guess in a way, my kids and I are still trying to get to know each other. As I've told them, I'm their mother when they are with me and some of them smiled or giggled when they heard that. Each of them has their own unique patterns and like a mother, I'm trying to get to know that, something that will distinguish one from the other.I guess over time, I will be able to know each and every one of their quirky characteristics.

Like my kids, my friends also have qualities that make them special, or special in a way to me at least. These few weeks, I've had the time to just chat over every day things and catch up with them and find out new developments in their lives. Like for example, H Square Mummy, her kids are really2 big now. The first one is already attending school. Haven't seen them for a while. At the airport just now, I just joked and talked more to my second cousins. It's funny how we don't talk as much before. To do it, especially at a time when everyone is dampened by the soon to be departure of my cousin to Bangkok, is something worth cherishing.

Sometimes, even though we are up to our neck with things, we just need to drop everything and find the time to sit back and talk. Just talk about stuff, be it signficant or silly coz I think it helps to relax our mind. So, if you do have the time, let's have a drink, just sit back and talk coz I am all ears.
