I've been out in the wild for the past three days, connecting myself with Nature and creatures that basically lived there. It's been a great experience for me being able to get so close to them and seeing how they actually behaved in their natural surroundings. All these could only happen in one place - Mandai High School as I termed it right here in the northern part of Singapore.

I got the chance to be here when my three frenz (Mrs Maha Bodhi, Jewel Mummy and Samantha Mummy) and I signed up for this course at werk. 3 days from 9 - 5, thought it must be super tiring but for someone who rarely spent her time here like me, it would be a uniquely fun experience. Started the day with introductions - meeting people from different zones coming here for the same purpose basically. Jewel Mummy told me something shocking (What, seriously?) but hey, once told, lips must be always kept shut. Worked on group project on classifying animals. Never thought that it would be more detailed. Guess the best parts of the experience for me were the tours and especially the behind the scenes' look at what was actually happening in the zoo - the zookeepers' den. Looked at programme - oh, no! Last day was a behind the scene tour at the reptile house. For someone who was very petrified of SNAKES (ironic since I was born in the year of one), that was something that I was NOT looking forward to. Snakes gave me goosebumps in a HUGE way but after going in, it was not too bad after all. It was truly amazing seeing how the animals especially the orang utans, sealions and elephants could connect and actually listen to what their keepers' told them to do.

Maybe, I should volunteer myself as a keeper so that I could experience first hand how working with these animals would be like. Not too sure I could afford the time though. But one thing's for sure, I will definitely be coming back here on my own sometime soon so that I will have more time to explore. I want to watch the shows lah. Visit the zoo k. I am sure you will not regret it!
