Question .....Do gifts given to gals present a different symbolic meaning than when they are given to guys? Even though it is given by the giver with the same sincerity and intent. I didn't really think of it that way until that issue became a point of discussion one day. Ok, here's what I gathered. Gals give gifts to everyone be it friends or loved ones (although it might have a deeper meaning when it is given to their special someone) at any occasion while guys only give gifts to people whom they consider as important and special. So, when they do receive gifts from gals, they see it as the gal acknowledging or even hinting that they have become more than a "friend" to them - their "special" someone even? Need perspectives from guys now - is that true? Coz to me, when I give gifts especially to my friends, it is to not only acknowledge special occasions like their birthdays mostly but also to let them know how much their friendship means to me and how much I cherish and value them. They always say actions speaks louder than words. I believe it's true especially in my case coz I find it hard to express myself sometimes. So, I do it with actions - I'm not saying that giving gifts is the only action to show I care but it is with these small actions that will give me the courage to move on to bigger and more significant ones to show people how much they are truly cherished. So, a gift or no gift, I juz want to let people important in my life know that they make a difference to mine. And let me start showing this with a GIFT......
